Privacy policy

Krittex ("we", "us") sells the K1 Critter Guard and related products through krittex.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
What we collect
- Installer company accounts. Company and legal name, contact name, email, phone, website, GST/HST number, accounts-payable email, billing address, delivery address and delivery details (such as dock or forklift access, receiving contact and notes), and a password if you set one. Passwords are stored only as a one-way hash.
- Google sign-in. If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name, email address and a Google account ID with us. We don't receive your Google password or access to anything else in your Google account.
- Orders. What you ordered, quantities, panel types, delivery address, shipping choice, amounts paid, and any panel data sheets you upload.
- Payments. Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we receive only basic details such as card brand, last four digits and payment status.
- Site usage. We measure how the site is used with our own analytics: pages viewed, the referring site, device and browser type, screen size, approximate location (country, region and city) and time on page. We do not use advertising trackers, we don't set analytics cookies, and we don't store your IP address.
Why we use it
- To create and run your account, process and deliver orders, and send receipts and invoices.
- To quote shipping and arrange delivery with carriers.
- To run monthly subscriptions you sign up for.
- To answer questions, provide support and honour warranty claims.
- To keep records required by tax and accounting law.
- To understand which pages work and improve the site.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run the shop, and only what they need:
- Stripe for payments, invoices and subscriptions.
- Cloudflare, which hosts the site and stores our database and uploaded files.
- Google for sign-in and address lookup when you type an address.
- EasyPost and the carriers we ship with (such as UPS, Canada Post, Purolator and freight carriers) to quote and deliver your order.
Some of these providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of necessary cookies: one that keeps you signed in, and short-lived ones used during Google sign-in. Your cart is kept in your own browser's local storage until you check out. We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep account information while your account is open. We keep order and payment records for at least six years, as required by Canadian tax law. Site usage data is kept in aggregate for reporting. When we no longer need information, we delete it or make it anonymous.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed, sign-in sessions are stored as secure, HttpOnly cookies, and access to our admin tools is limited to authorized staff. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Your choices and rights
You can view and update your company profile at any time from your account. You can also ask us to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or close your account and delete what we're not required to keep. If you have a concern about how we've handled your information, contact us first; you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site or sent to account holders.
